After more than a decade of musical collaborations behind the scenes, country stars Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert have finally released their first official duet — and it’s already making waves.

    A Long-Awaited Collaboration

Though this is their first official duet, Stapleton and Lambert’s creative partnership stretches back years. Stapleton has contributed backing vocals to several of Lambert’s tracks, including “Time to Get a Gun” and “Hard Staying Sober”, which he also co-wrote. Now, fans have something permanent to hold onto with the release of “A Song to Sing”, which dropped July 11 — just days after its surprise announcement.

    A Soulful, Disco-Tinged Duet

Co-written by Lambert, Stapleton, Jesse Frasure, and Jenee Fleenor, “A Song to Sing” blends traditional country soul with a disco-tinged groove. It explores the emotional push and pull of life on the road, creativity, and unwavering love.

“To have someone so soulful and willing to go into the heart of the feelings… that’s next level,” Lambert told The Tennessean. “When we finished it, we both knew we wanted to release it.”

The track quickly soared to the top of Billboard’s Country Digital Song Sales chart, signaling fans’ excitement for this long-overdue musical moment.

    Live Debut at SoFi Stadium

The duo brought the song to life for the first time during Stapleton’s All American Road Show Tour stop at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on July 19.

“Brand-new,” Lambert told the crowd. “It’s the first time to ever play this in public.”

Fans responded with roaring cheers as the two launched into the song’s heartfelt lyrics, showcasing their powerful vocal harmony and undeniable connection.

With “A Song to Sing”, Chris Stapleton and Miranda Lambert have delivered more than just a duet — they’ve given fans a timeless reminder of what country music can be when it blends raw emotion with veteran artistry.
