    Ella Langley Puts a Raw, Acoustic Spin on Stevie Nicks’ “Dreams” at Maui Songwriters Festival

    Country breakout star Ella Langley gave fans a stripped-down surprise on July 4 during her headlining set at the Maui Songwriters Festival. Held at the Ritz-Carlton Maui in Kapalua, the event offered a more intimate atmosphere—perfect for a moment that felt less like a concert and more like a front-porch confession.

    Langley, who’s been touring in support of her 2024 debut album Hungover, stepped away from her usual full-band setup to perform an acoustic rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s classic “Dreams.”

    With only her guitar in hand and her voice doing all the heavy lifting, Langley delivered a raw and personal take on the Stevie Nicks-penned track. She even injected her own Southern charm into the moment, quipping “Ain’t that the damn truth” after singing the famous line, “Players only love you when they’re playing.”

    To close the night, she led the crowd in a final chorus singalong, turning a legendary song into a shared, heartfelt experience.

    @alegrmz And to think that I’ll never be this close to @Ella Langley in my hometown on the beautiful island of Maui with my bestie @Ms. Katie 🧡 #maui #mauihawaii #ellalangley #ellalangleymusic #country #countrymusic #countrygirl #countrytiktok #countryconcert #concert #concerts #concerttok #4thofjuly ♬ original sound – Ale

    A Song She Keeps Coming Back To
    Ella Langley has been performing “Dreams” for years. A 2020 video still circulates online showing her delivering the track in a small venue, back when she was just starting to build her name across the southeastern U.S. Even then, her reverence for Stevie Nicks was clear.

    In a recent interview on Taste of Country Nights, Langley opened up about her deep-rooted admiration:

    “I grew up on so many different types of music, but probably the most out of anyone ever would be Stevie Nicks.”

    Asked what it would mean to collaborate with her musical hero, Ella didn’t hesitate:

    “I don’t care who wrote [our song], as long as I got to sing with Stevie Nicks. I’d lose my mind.”

    Until that dream becomes reality, fans can look forward to more of Ella’s soulful covers of Stevie’s classics—delivered with a country grit and honesty that make them feel brand new.

    If you were lucky enough to be in Maui that night, you didn’t just hear a song—you felt it.
