Baylee Littrell leaves Carrie Underwood torn as he barely makes the Top 24 after emotional Shallow duet on American Idol

On Season 23 of American Idol, 22-year-old Baylee Littrell, the son of Backstreet Boys member Brian Littrell, has made it to the top 24.
The final 40 American Idol competitors engaged in fierce head-to-head sing-offs on Monday, April 7. Only half had advanced in the competition by the end of the evening.

Many viewers were overjoyed to see the contestants they were supporting advance, even though some of their favorites were sent home.

Baylee Littrell, who formally asserted his place in the Top 24, is one of those contenders.

After playing an original song called “Waiting on Myself to Die” at his audition, Baylee received a Golden Ticket from the judges, marking the beginning of his Idol journey.

In addition to his skill, his performance immediately attracted attention when it was disclosed that his father is Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys. In addition, his pop star father attended his audition, which caused Carrie Underwood to fangirl.

Viewers have expressed disapproval of Baylee’s participation in the competition. Many have feared that his association with a well-known parent could unjustly increase his fame. But as he progresses, Baylee has demonstrated that his solo talent merited his place on the competition.

Baylee sang a heartbreaking rendition of a song he penned for his grandmother, who died suddenly three years ago, during Hollywood Week.

The judges and his fellow contestants were moved by the song “Hey Jesus.” His position in the competition was firmly established by this, demonstrating that his ability to sing and write songs is what keeps him winning.

The 2018 hit song “Shallow” was performed by Baylee and competitor Keilene Bultron in a sing-off halfway through the show.

Following their duet, Judge Lionel Richie was the first to speak, complimenting both competitors on their “powerful” performance.

In her assessment of Baylee, rookie judge Carrie Underwood observed that he appeared more at ease singing in a group than on his own.

Luke Bryan said during the judges’ deliberations that he thought Baylee’s performance was a little hesitant at times. However, Keilene was ultimately sent home by the judges, allowing Baylee to advance to the Top 24.

Underwood addressed him, saying, “Baylee, I’m your cheerleader, I believe in you, and I had to be very vocal about that.” “I’ll tell you what I was informed following one of my Hollywood Week performances: the choice wasn’t made unanimously. I therefore need you to step up going forward.
