If you’ve been on the internet this week, one of the most bizarre claims you’ve come across is that Jennifer Aniston has had an affair with Barack Obama.
No, we’re not making this up. Yes, various outlets have hypothesized over the last few days.
In fact, the somewhat unusual bit of salacious information has gathered so much steam that attention has now switched to a previous interview in which Jennifer Aniston herself weighed in on the subject.
The new link between the Friends star and the former president is alleged to have evolved as a result of persistent conspiracy theories connected to Barack and Michelle Obama’s marriage. Read on to see why.
Concerns about the stability of the Obamas’ marriage emerged after Michelle failed to attend both Jimmy Carter’s funeral (on January 9, 2025) and Donald Trump’s inauguration last Monday, January 20.
We believe the evidence linking Aniston and Obama to an affair is highly unlikely. At best.
Sure, Michelle may have been absent from the aforementioned events, which could be viewed as weird given the gravity of the circumstances, but it would be hasty, rather irresponsible, to presume that this means her and Barack’s much-lauded marriage is on the rocks.
In any event, discussion on the subject has inevitably led people back to an interview in which Jennifer Aniston freely rejected the notion that she and Barack had engaged in a disgusting affair.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in October last year, host Jimmy Kimmel handed Aniston a gossip magazine about the alleged romance.
In response, the actress wagged her finger and went on to convey her displeasure with fake tales published in tabloid newspapers.
Aniston stated, “Of all the calls you get from your publicist and you’re just like, ‘Oh no, what’s it gonna be?’ “Or you get an email saying some cheesy tabloid will make up a story, and then it’s that…”
Given the absurdity of the rumor, Aniston would be quite justified in reacting strongly. Instead, she told Kimmel that “I was not mad at it,” but that it was “absolutely untrue”.
The 55-year-old Aniston went on to clarify her relationship with the Obamas, saying, “I met [Barack] once. “I know Michelle better than he does.”
At the time of writing, it is unclear whether Aniston is currently dating anyone. Her last known serious relationship was with actor Jennifer Theroux, which lasted eight years from 2010 to 2018.
Barack and Michelle Obama have been happily married since October 3, 1992. The couple has two daughters: Malia Ann (1998) and Natasha (2001).
