Though Miranda Lambert wasn’t nominated for an award at this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards (ACMAs), she still managed to steal the show in a daring gown that certainly caught the attention of the audience.

The Texas native, known for her swagger and status as a “country queen,” strutted down the red carpet in a bold, barely-there dress. The look generated both admiration and criticism from fans, with one person suggesting Lambert seems to prefer a “trashy to classy” style.

On May 17, the 59th annual American Country Music Awards took place at the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas, hosted by Reba McEntire. The event saw performances from stars like Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Dua Lipa, Blake Shelton, and of course, Miranda Lambert, who walked the red carpet before debuting her new single.

Despite not receiving a nomination this year, Lambert’s career is storied, boasting 37 ACM Awards. She most recently won video of the year and entertainer of the year at the 2022 ceremony.

Lambert arrived at the event with her husband, Brendan McLoughlin, a former cop, looking stunning in a high-slit black gown with a plunging neckline, complemented by a silver belt and a chic silver purse. McLoughlin, whom she married in 2019 after a whirlwind two-month romance, matched her in a sleek black suit and tie. Online fans were quick to praise the couple’s look, with many commenting on how well they complemented each other.

“You’re always well put together, Miranda….in country elegance,” one fan commented. Another praised, “He is so proud of her. She is gorgeous. Look at those smiles.” A third admirer added, “Wow, Miranda with natural curves. A beautiful dress that shows off her beauty while still being elegant!”

However, not everyone was on board with her bold fashion choice. Some fans criticized the plunging neckline, with one remarking, “She needs to put some clothes on.” Another said, “Wow, cover up the top a little. No need to give a free show!” One even suggested, “She has always preferred trashy to classy. Not surprised.”

Later in the evening, Lambert switched up her look for her stage performance, opting for a cheeky cowgirl outfit as she debuted her single “Wranglers.” The singer, known for her hit “Kerosene,” rocked darker denim, a fringed jacket, and a bedazzled cowboy hat, complete with black leather chaps. Fans loved the playful outfit, with one commenting, “LOVE the outfit with the chaps,” while another joked, “Now, they have changed the name to Frisky, Texas.”

The night didn’t go without a hiccup, however, as McLoughlin experienced a wardrobe malfunction when his pants split at the seams. He took to Instagram to share the moment, posting a picture of the tear in his pants with the caption, “Fun times were had last night…Pants held on until the very end.” Fans found humor in the situation, with one quipping, “That happens when you’re runnin’ with the fastest girl in town,” while Lambert cheekily added, “Free ballin!”
