A text message from Emily to her husband about fixing a decorative bathtub panel caused a panicked reaction. This was a big change in Emily’s life. “NOOOO! Do not touch it or look inside. NEVER.” Emily looked into it because she was interested and found an envelope hiding behind the panel. There was an ultrasound picture inside that said, “Daddy, I’m coming soon.”
Emily was shocked and hurt, so she hired Sam as a private investigator to find out what was going on. After a week, Sam told everyone that her husband David had been cheating on her with Lisa, one of his coworkers who was six months pregnant. Emily chose to do something because she felt betrayed and hurt.
Emily planned David’s birthday party with a secret goal in mind. The baby picture and the words “Daddy, I’m coming soon” were on the cake. As people gasped, thinking it was a surprise pregnancy news, Emily told them the truth: “David is going to be a dad, but Lisa is the mother.”
The happy feeling went away. Lisa looked ashamed, and David’s face lost all color. Friends and family were shocked, and David’s boss, Mr. Flanagan, told him he was sorry and asked to meet with David and Lisa to talk about their future at work.
Emily told David it was over because she was ready to move on. She got her things together and moved in with her friend Jessica, who was there for her through it all. Emily refused to give in, even though David begged and promised. A lawyer was called, and the divorce process began.Emily began to fix her life with the help of her family and friends. She spent time on work, hobbies, and getting to know herself. To relax, she even went to the woods by herself.
