Serena Williams’s argument over where to eat starts an online debate
Serena Williams was angry on the evening of August 5, 2024, because she wasn’t allowed to go to the rooftop restaurant of a high-end hotel in Paris.

The tennis legend, who was a torch bearer at the opening event of the Olympics, wrote on X, “Yikes @peninsulaparis I’ve been turned away from rooftop restaurants that were empty in nicer places, but never with my kids. At the Olympics in 2024, there will be a first.
Williams complained, and the restaurant said they were sorry for the sadness she felt. They said, “Unfortunately, our rooftop bar was indeed fully booked and the only unoccupied tables you saw belonged to our gourmet restaurant, L’Oiseau Blanc, which was fully reserved.”

The diner made it clear that they have always been proud to have Williams as a guest and will continue to be ready to do so in the future.

A lot of people online agreed with the diner that Williams should have booked ahead like everyone else. “She should be treated the same as everyone else.” As one user put it, “Stop worshiping celebrities.”

“She deserves the same treatment as the rest of us,” said someone else. “Maybe she’ll book a goddamn table next time.” Other users were harsher, writing things like, “Don’t apologize to this childish person!” “She only deserves a Happy Meal!”

Users laughed at Williams and said, “Oh no, they treated you like a normal person?! “Did you tell them your name?” “Why are you mad? This is how they do things. “Equal for everyone,” said one more person.

Someone yelled that anyone who supports this kind of spoiled behavior should get whatever they deserve. “Imagine if you have surgery in an hour with the best surgeon in the country, but someone richer than you tells that surgeon to skip your surgery and do one on them instead…” Then what?”

Someone online told Serena Williams to say sorry to the restaurant for acting like a spoiled brat, “So you just thought someone else would lose their seat because you are Serena?” We’re sorry, but your privilege card doesn’t work everywhere.

Someone who commented said that Williams wasn’t turned away because the place was full. Other people said Williams would have been mad too if she had lost a table because a bigger name took it.

It could have been a proposal, an anniversary dinner, or someone saving up for a year to eat there. to possibly make them lose money. “Not cool,” the person said.

Because of this, a lot of people on social media agreed with the restaurant and said Williams was rude for not making an appointment.
