When a dog from a shelter finds his permanent home, it’s always a joyful day, but for Chester, it was especially memorable.

He’s making a grand entrance into his new home after a difficult start in an uncaring household and almost 600 days in the shelter.

In August 2022, Chester, a 4-year-old pit bull, and three other canines were taken from an abusive and neglected household. He was almost starved to death when he was discovered tied up in an empty house.

    No photo description available.

Chester was only skin and bones; the dog was unable to lie down at all. He was a mess, with his paw trapped in a prong collar. After a while, he could not stand and had to be carried out, according to Euclid Animal Shelter kennel manager Kyrie Brickman, who spoke with WJW.

“He was really relieved to see people, and I’m not sure how much longer he could have held out.”

Chester was at the shelter with capable hands. He eventually got better, put on weight, and discovered how to trust people once more. But he had a hard time locating a permanent residence.

Chester was at the shelter for about 600 days after a year and a half. It appeared as though he would never be able to own a house. Prior to him, the three other canines that were rescued all found homes.

Chester’s luck did, however, eventually change around. Lauren Reitsman, a lady, reportedly learned about Chester from an online message that a friend forwarded to her, per FOX 8. She was confident that she would be the ideal person to adopt the adorable dog.

Lauren made Chester’s last voyage out of the shelter more special by renting him a limo! Chester was adopted by Lauren.

She told FOX 8, “I think I won the lottery, because he’s just bopping around to see who he can get love from, because he has all these people around him.”
