The Voice Season 28 Finale Featured a Standout Duet from Zac Brown and Noah Cyrus

On Tuesday, December 16, NBC’s The Voice wrapped up its two-part Season 28 finale by naming a new champion. The night before, finalists Aubrey Nicole, Jazz McKenzie, Ralph Edwards, Aiden Ross, DEK of Hearts, and Max Chambers all delivered their final performances, each hoping to claim the win.

Before the results were announced, the two-hour finale was packed with special guest appearances and musical collaborations.

One of the performances that immediately grabbed viewers’ attention was a duet between Zac Brown Band frontman Zac Brown and singer Noah Cyrus. The pair took the stage to perform “Butterfly,” a deeply personal track Brown originally recorded earlier this year with Dolly Parton for his latest album Love & Fear.

“Butterfly” holds special meaning for Brown—not only because he got to collaborate with one of his musical heroes, but also because he wrote the song for his children. Speaking about the project, Brown said working with Parton was “a dream come true,” adding that her voice brought “heart and soul” to the song’s message about life’s challenges.

So when Brown and Cyrus teamed up for the live duet, expectations were high—and they more than delivered. Despite this being their first time performing together, their voices blended seamlessly, creating one of the night’s most memorable moments.

Watch Zac Brown and Noah Cyrus perform “Butterfly” below.
