Reba McEntire Shakes The Voice Finale With A Soul-Stirring “Mary, Did You Know?” That Stopped the Show Cold

Reba McEntire helped bring some Christmas magic to night two of The Voice Season 28 finale.

The two-hour finale aired on Tuesday (December 16), culminating in the crowning of a new champion. But before the big reveal, viewers were treated to a full slate of performances from this season’s finalists, their coaches, and several special musical guests.

Riley Green, Neal Schon, Zac Brown with Noah Cyrus, Khalid, and others joined in to close out the season in true holiday style.

This year’s finale was billed as “The Voice Finale Holiday Spectacular,” and three of the four coaches joined their contestants for festive performances. Niall Horan was the only coach who didn’t appear onstage with his artists—so Reba stepped in, teaming up with Niall’s trio finalist DEK of Hearts for a lively version of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town.” Meanwhile, former Voice winner Gina Miles (Team Niall, Season 23) joined finalist Aiden Ross for “Last Christmas.”

One of the standout moments of the night came from Team Reba.

Reba and her remaining finalist, Aubrey Nicole, delivered a stunning duet of the beloved Christmas classic “Mary, Did You Know?” The performance was emotional, reverent, and immediately became one of the evening’s most talked-about highlights. The song has a history on The Voice—Jordan Smith performed it during the Season 9 finale just before winning the competition. Reba has also recorded the song herself, both on her 1999 holiday album Secret of Giving and alongside Little Big Town for the 2017 CMA Country Christmas special.

Aubrey Nicole began her journey this season by performing Cam’s “Burning House,” earning a single chair-turn from Reba, who instantly recognized her emotional depth. Week after week, Reba praised Aubrey’s ability to connect deeply with each song. When it came time to choose just one artist from her team to advance to the finale, she chose Aubrey, calling her “a heart of gold” and believing she had a real chance to win.

Their duet proved just how powerful that pairing was.

In the final results, Aubrey Nicole finished in 4th place, behind DEK of Hearts, Ralph Edwards, and this season’s winner, Aiden Ross.

Watch Reba and Aubrey’s performance of “Mary, Did You Know?” below.
