On Tuesday, December 2, Lauren Daigle and Jordan Davis Hosted CMA Country Christmas
The holiday season officially arrived on ABC as CMA Country Christmas aired for its 16th year, with Christian artist Lauren Daigle and country hitmaker Jordan Davis stepping into the role of co-hosts for the first time. Together, the pair guided viewers through an evening filled with festive performances and new seasonal favorites.
Throughout the broadcast, Daigle and Davis kept the energy warm and playful, introducing acts that showcased the full spectrum of holiday music. One of the standout moments came courtesy of Lady A, who delivered a stunning performance of “Angels (Glory to God)” and their original holiday song “Wouldn’t Be Christmas.” Their harmonies, paired with a glowing stage setup, brought a classic Christmas feel to the night.
Other performers included Riley Green, Little Big Town, Parker McCollum, Megan Moroney, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, BeBe Winans — and even a duet from the two hosts, adding an extra layer of charm to the program.
Lady A Celebrates Their Return to Christmas Music
Lady A’s appearance on this year’s CMA Country Christmas carried added significance: just months earlier, the group released On This Winter’s Night, Vol. 2, their first holiday album in over a decade. The original On This Winter’s Night debuted in 2012 and quickly became a seasonal staple for country fans.
The new album features 11 tracks, including originals such as “Wouldn’t Be Christmas” and “Why We Sing Noel,” alongside fresh takes on beloved classics like “O Holy Night,” “Silent Night,” and “What Christmas Means to Me.” The project marks a welcome return to holiday music for the six-time Grammy-winning trio.
Lady A is also preparing to hit the road for The Winter’s Night Tour, kicking off December 5 in Atlanta. The 12-date run will travel across the country before concluding with a three-night residency at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium.
Their CMA performance served as the perfect prelude to the tour, reminding fans why Lady A remains one of country music’s strongest vocal groups — especially during the holiday season.
