Lainey Wilson is stepping boldly into the rock arena, teaming up with Aerosmith—multi-GRAMMY winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers—and British alt-rock phenom Yungblud for a blistering new take on “Wild Woman (Lainey Wilson Version).”
The original version appears on One More Time, the collaborative EP from Aerosmith and Yungblud, released earlier this year through Capitol Records. The track pulses with raw emotion, weaving together three artists from different worlds to tell a story steeped in vulnerability, tension, and the messy truth of complicated relationships.
At its heart, “Wild Woman” explores the sacrifices demanded by fame and constant travel—the way distance, pressure, and loneliness can strain even the strongest bonds. It’s not just a love story; it’s a reckoning with heartbreak, longing, and the emotional cost of giving your whole life to your art.
Three Worlds Collide
The song opens with Yungblud’s trademark fire before Steven Tyler pushes the intensity into overdrive with those instantly recognizable vocals. Midway through the track, Lainey’s unmistakable Louisiana grit melts into the mix, adding warmth, ache, and an entirely new emotional color. Her verse softens the track just enough before the rockers surge back in for a sky-high finish.
Together, they plead:
“Why, wild woman, you takin’ back every truth you told?
I hurt you, but you hurt me more…
I don’t wanna be alone.”
How the Collaboration Happened
The unexpected team-up began at the 2025 GRAMMY Awards, where Lainey met Steven Tyler. The two ended up performing “Dream On” together at his Jam for Janie charity event weeks later. When Aerosmith and Yungblud continued shaping One More Time, they reached out to Lainey—who immediately knew she wanted in.
She told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe:
“As soon as I heard the song, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. They gave me creative freedom, and I just went for it. Now I’m ready to perform it live with them—tell me where and when.”
Yungblud echoed her enthusiasm, saying he’d admired Lainey for years:
“We needed a female vocalist who could bring real authenticity. We needed a wild woman—and we definitely got one.”
A Massive Chart Moment
The arrival of Lainey’s version comes on the heels of One More Time’s massive debut. The EP stormed into the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, becoming one of the biggest rock releases of the year. It marks Aerosmith’s first new music in 12 years, extends their six-decade streak of Top 10 albums, and gives Yungblud his first top-ten entry.
With nearly 40,000 units sold in week one, the project also hit:
#1 – Billboard Top Rock Albums
#1 – Indie Store Album Sales
#2 – Vinyl Albums
#3 – Top Album Sales
Internationally, it debuted at #1 in the UK, becoming Aerosmith’s first chart-topper there in 49 years, and landed top-five positions across Europe.
A New Chapter for Aerosmith
Produced by Matt Schwartz, One More Time blends two generations of rock energy across five original tracks co-written by Aerosmith and Yungblud. Steven Tyler and Yungblud share vocals on each song, while Joe Perry delivers the unforgettable guitar work fans expect.
The EP’s lead single, “My Only Angel,” debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs and later received an acoustic “Desert Road Version” featuring none other than Steve Martin on banjo.
Alongside the original “Wild Woman,” fans can dive into:
“Problems”
“A Thousand Days”
A new 2025 mix of “Back in the Saddle”
And now, the centerpiece:
“Wild Woman (Lainey Wilson Version)” — a swaggering country-rock fusion that proves Lainey can hold her own alongside rock legends.
