Ella Langley Says Her Biggest Dating Red Flag Is Shockingly Simple
Ella Langley is gearing up for a massive night at the 2025 CMA Awards, where she’ll both present and perform. The show kicks off Wednesday at 7 p.m. CT on ABC, with Lainey Wilson taking over as this year’s solo host.
And make no mistake — Ella is walking in as one of the night’s heavy hitters.
She’s tied with Lainey and Megan Moroney for most nominations, with six total. Her breakout smash “you look like you love me” featuring Riley Green snagged three separate nods (Single, Song, and Music Video of the Year). She’s also up for Female Vocalist of the Year and New Artist of the Year.
She’s almost guaranteed to walk away with some hardware.
With all the attention on her rise, Ella’s been doing plenty of interviews, talking about what this wild two-year career explosion has felt like. But she also opened up about something much lighter — and honestly, very relatable:
Her No. 1 dating red flag.
And it’s not complicated. In fact, it’s the opposite.
“If he doesn’t hold the door open for a lady… not just the lady you like, but any lady. Hold the dang door open.”
One of the hosts mentioned that people — men or women — should hold doors for anyone out of basic courtesy. Ella agreed instantly:
“Just hold the door. Be nice.”
Simple. Direct. 100% correct.
Dating expectations can feel like a mess sometimes, but Ella hits the nail on the head. If a guy can’t manage one of the easiest gestures of respect, it’s probably not getting better from there. If “hold the door” is too much work, imagine asking for emotional intelligence.

What’s Next for Ella Langley
Ella released her debut album Hungover in 2024, solidifying her as one of country’s sharpest new writers. And her newest release, “Choosin’ Texas,” co-written and produced by Miranda Lambert, is arguably one of her best songs ever.
It sounds like it will land on her next project — nothing officially announced yet, but knowing Ella, we’re not waiting long. 2026 is looking stacked already.
Here’s “Choosin’ Texas.”
