“This Is What Live Music Is Supposed to Feel Like” as Lukas Nelson and Sierra Ferrell Own the Stage With an Electrifying Performance of “Find Yourself” at Farm Aid 2025

Lukas Nelson and Sierra Ferrell Deliver a Soul-Stirring “Find Yourself” at Farm Aid 40

A Night That Redefined Live Music

Some performances don’t just entertain — they transcend. That’s exactly what happened on September 20, 2025, at Huntington Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, when Lukas Nelson and Sierra Ferrell took the stage during the 40th anniversary of Farm Aid.

With legends like Willie Nelson, Neil Young, and John Mellencamp already gracing the lineup, expectations were sky-high. But when Lukas stepped up with his weathered guitar and Sierra drifted in beside him, the energy shifted. The moment they launched into “Find Yourself,” it felt as if the world outside the stadium simply ceased to exist.

A Song Reborn

Originally written by Lukas Nelson in 2014 and released in 2017 with his band Promise of the Real, “Find Yourself” has long been one of his signature soul-rock anthems. The original featured Lady Gaga, whose powerhouse vocals added cinematic fire.

But in Minneapolis, Sierra Ferrell took the song to an entirely new realm. Her voice — equal parts velvet and wildfire — intertwined with Lukas’ raw rasp to create a version that was as intimate as it was explosive. She didn’t just sing her parts; she inhabited them, transforming the stage into something primal, human, and real.

“It was like watching lightning meet water,” one fan posted afterward. “Sierra was the song, and Lukas sang it like he’d lived every line.”

Chemistry That Can’t Be Faked

The duo’s connection was palpable. Lukas played with the intensity of a man on fire — eyes closed, sweat glistening, every chord striking deep — while Sierra, radiant and fierce, matched his energy note for note.

Their harmonies weren’t polished — they were alive. That kind of chemistry can’t be rehearsed; it happens when two artists share the same emotional frequency.

By the final chorus, the audience wasn’t just cheering — they were part of the song. It was one of those rare live moments when everyone in the room knew they were witnessing something unforgettable.

A Growing Musical Partnership

This wasn’t their first collaboration — and judging by the reaction, it better not be the last. Over the past year, Lukas and Sierra have quietly been building a creative bond that feels both spontaneous and fated.

Their haunting bluegrass duet of Neil Young’s “Unknown Legend” gave the classic a ghostly elegance, while their rootsy reinterpretation of Adele’s “Someone Like You” (backed by The Travelin’ McCourys) turned a pop heartbreak anthem into a mountain hymn.

Sierra also lent her unmistakable voice to “Friend in the End” on Lukas’ debut solo album American Romance — a track that showcases just how effortlessly their voices complement each other.

The Magic of Farm Aid 2025

Still, nothing could have prepared fans for the electricity of that Farm Aid performance. Under the glowing Minnesota sky, with 40 years of musical legacy behind them, Lukas and Sierra created a moment that felt both timeless and brand new — a meeting of two restless souls at the height of their craft.

When the last note of “Find Yourself” faded, there was a hush before the eruption of applause — the kind that says, we just saw something special.

A Duet Album in the Making?

If the crowd’s reaction — and the flood of online clips — are any indication, fans are desperate for more. The calls for a full-length duet album have already begun flooding social media, and honestly, who could argue?

Because if Farm Aid 2025 proved anything, it’s this:

When Lukas Nelson and Sierra Ferrell share a stage, it’s not just a performance — it’s alchemy.

✨ One song. Two voices. Infinite magic.
