Riley Green Announces 2026 Cowboy As It Gets Tour — And He’s Owning Exactly Who He Is
He might not be a cowboy, and he’s perfectly fine with that.
This morning, Riley Green officially announced his 2026 Cowboy As It Gets Tour, set to kick off on April 16th in Southaven, Mississippi, and run through August 22nd in Grand Forks, North Dakota. The trek will take Green across the country, headlining both arenas and amphitheaters — a major milestone for an artist who built his career the old-fashioned way: one show, one fan, and one song at a time.
A Tour Born from a Song — and a Sentiment
The announcement follows the release of the deluxe edition of his album Don’t Mind If I Do, which includes six new tracks, among them the Randy Houser duet “Cowboy As It Gets.”
Written by Riley Green, Tucker Beathard, and Randy Montana, the song reflects on Riley’s relationship with his father — a man who never roped cattle or rode the range, but embodied every bit of the cowboy spirit through hard work, grit, and resilience.
“He ain’t from Texas
And he don’t rope and ride
But he’s wide-open reckless
Never runs from a fight…”
It’s a simple idea, but one that hits home — that you don’t need spurs or a Stetson to be a cowboy at heart. Sometimes, being “as cowboy as it gets” just means standing tall, working hard, and staying true to your word.
“We Didn’t Have a Lot of Real Cowboying Going On”
Speaking with Billboard, Riley explained that while he didn’t grow up in cowboy country, he grew up surrounded by people who lived by cowboy values:
“We didn’t have a lot of real cowboying going on where I was at. It was just people that I thought were tough or worked with their hands. Those qualities kind of made someone a cowboy to me when I was a kid.”
That perspective — real, grounded, and unpretentious — defines both the song and the upcoming tour.
A Refreshing Dose of Authenticity
In an era when many “country” artists lean into cowboy imagery for fashion’s sake, Green’s honesty stands out. He doesn’t pretend to be something he’s not. Instead, he celebrates the everyday heroes — the fathers, farmers, and small-town workers — who live by the same code the cowboys did.
It’s the kind of sincerity that has always endeared him to fans. And judging by the early buzz, Cowboy As It Gets will be one of the most anticipated country tours of 2026.

The Heart of the Tour
At its core, this tour — like the song — is a salute to authenticity. Riley Green may not be from Texas, and he may not rope or ride, but with his humility, honesty, and work ethic, he’s proving that being a cowboy isn’t about where you’re from — it’s about who you are.
Or, as he’d probably put it: that’s about as cowboy as it gets.
