Kayleigh Clark Wins Her Battle With a “Mini Carrie Underwood” Moment on The Voice
Season 28 of The Voice delivered another unforgettable moment when Team Niall Horan’s Kayleigh Clark and Camille Tredoux went head-to-head in a stunning Battle Round performance of Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan’s “Cowboys Cry Too.”
A Soulful Country Showdown
Kayleigh, dressed in a white lace dress and cowboy boots, opened the song with her signature Mississippi twang, instantly setting a warm country tone. Camille soon joined in, blending her soulful, rock-tinged vocals to create an unexpectedly rich harmony. The result was magic — two artists from different worlds meeting in the middle of a heartfelt country ballad.
By the end, the crowd was on its feet and all four coaches were smiling, clearly moved by the performance.
Coaches React: “A Cross Between Miranda and Carrie”
Reba McEntire led the feedback, calling the duet “beautiful” and delivering one of the night’s most memorable compliments.
“Camille, I love your voice — it’s got a little bit of Stevie Nicks on the end. And Kayleigh, you’re a cross between Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood,” McEntire said. “I’d go with Kayleigh.”
Michael Bublé echoed the praise, applauding Camille for stepping outside her comfort zone and Kayleigh for her pure, controlled tone.
“Kayleigh, you have such a clear tone. I might give you the edge today,” he said, “but Camille, you’re amazing too.”
Snoop Dogg praised both women’s artistry, refusing to choose sides.
“Camille, you can move through different genres so easily — great job. Kayleigh, you came on strong, crystal clear, like you were singing your song, not someone else’s. You put a lot of you in there.”
Niall’s Impossible Decision
When it came time for Niall Horan to choose, he admitted the matchup had been almost too good.
“You two should never have been paired up,” he joked. “Camille, your tone really stands out. Kayleigh, that song was perfect for you — you sing it so clean, so clear. I wish I had a Holy ghost to speak to.”
Ultimately, Horan selected Kayleigh Clark as the winner.
“That was one of the tougher decisions I’ve had to make,” he said. “Kayleigh’s special — she’s like a mini Carrie Underwood. She has control over everything she does, from her low range to her high notes. She’s the perfect singer.”
What’s Next
While Camille Tredoux was eliminated, she left the stage to a standing ovation and high praise from every coach. Kayleigh Clark, meanwhile, advances to the Knockout Rounds, carrying with her the momentum — and comparisons — of a rising country star in the making.
