Ben Affleck Speaks Out About the Viral “Sad Affleck” Meme Once More — And He’s Honestly So Relatable

Kelly WhitewoodBy Kelly WhitewoodSeptember 24, 20252 Mins Read

If Ben Affleck isn’t one of your top celebrity meme makers, we don’t live in the same world. Ben has become a real internet icon over the years, even though no one can fully explain why he’s so easy to relate to. In a recent interview with GQ, he talked about some of those viral moments and why he thinks people like to make memes about him.

Ben said, “I’m not very careful about how I present myself.” “I’ll go get coffee or packages, and I don’t mind if someone takes a picture.” Some people are more careful about how they look in public than I am. I just say, “Whatever, I just want the coffee.”

Of course, coffee is at the center of his most famous meme moment: the 2020 Dunkin’ Donuts run, when he had trouble carrying too many cups and bags. The internet hasn’t let him forget about it since, and let’s be honest, who hasn’t been there?

Ben says that one of the things that makes it interesting is that his life isn’t that exciting. “I’m a middle-aged man who works 9 to 5 at my production company. He said, “It’s pretty boring.” But because people are so used to seeing edited pictures of celebrities, his unedited moments stand out even more.

    Ben is holding coffee again.

And yes, he knows all about the “Sad Affleck” meme. “I thought that maybe if I wore the same thing every day, the pictures wouldn’t stand out. Or I’d just look like a mess, and then you’d be the Sad Affleck who spills his coffee. I think that’s pretty funny, to be honest.
