Gleb Savchenko is speaking out after his ex-wife, Elena Samodanova, announced she is expecting a baby with her partner, Vlad Kvartin.
The Dancing With the Stars professional, 41, surprised fans when he left a congratulatory comment on Samodanova’s Instagram reveal, despite their rocky split in 2020.
“Congratulations. I’m so happy for you guys,” Savchenko wrote alongside confetti and heart emojis, as his ex shared photos holding a sonogram with Kvartin. Samodanova captioned the post, “Our love story continues with a new chapter. Pink or blue, we can’t wait to meet you.”
A Complicated Past
Savchenko and Samodanova were married for over a decade, from 2006 to 2020, and share two daughters, Olivia, 14, and Zlata, 8.
Their divorce turned messy after Samodanova accused him of “ongoing infidelity” and claimed he “irrevocably” broke her trust. In a statement at the time, she told People:
“After 14 years of marriage, and multiple affairs, I’ve decided enough is enough. Gleb’s ongoing infidelity and a recent inappropriate relationship has created turmoil in our marriage and absolutely torn our family apart.”
Savchenko strongly denied the allegations, insisting his split from Samodanova was due to “longstanding issues” and not his friendship with his then-DWTS partner, Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause.
“My relationship with Chrishell was and remains strictly platonic. Our friendship during our season on DWTS was not the reason for our split,” he said at the time.
Life After Divorce
Following their separation, Samodanova relocated to Hong Kong with their daughters and now lives there with Kvartin, with whom she is expecting her third child.
Savchenko, meanwhile, has faced his own high-profile breakup drama. He recently split from model Brooks Nader — his partner on DWTS season 33 — after their rumored fling turned into a short-lived romance. Their relationship ended in April 2025, just months after they were spotted showing PDA backstage during the competition.
Nader has since accused Savchenko of cheating and claimed he was fired from DWTS because of it, an allegation he has denied. In a recent TikTok, the dancer clapped back at her claims, writing: “Your ‘source’ needs a refund … because that story? 100% fake.”
Where Things Stand Now
Despite the contentious history, Savchenko’s public congratulations to his ex-wife marks a surprisingly warm gesture. Fans quickly noticed his effort to put differences aside, focusing instead on celebrating a milestone in Samodanova’s new chapter.
The dancer has yet to confirm if he will return to DWTS for the next season. In response to a fan online, he wrote: “Afraid you won’t [see me on TV this fall]. 14 years of loyalty, erased by someone’s lie.”
Samodanova, meanwhile, seems to be moving forward joyfully, embracing motherhood again with her partner.
