Lainey Wilson Stuns Nashville by Singing ‘4x4xU’ on Stage with Fiancé Devlin Hodges, Turning a 40,000-Person Arena into an Intimate Love Story Fans Will Never Forget

Lainey Wilson & Fiancé Devlin “Duck” Hodges Share First-Ever Duet Onstage in Nashville

Lainey Wilson gave her hometown crowd an unforgettable night during her Whirlwind Tour stop in Nashville, Tennessee. Performing for more than 40,000 fans, the reigning country star stunned the audience when she invited her fiancé, former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges, to join her on stage as a singer for the very first time.

The stadium erupted as Devlin walked out, smiling through his nerves. Together, the couple performed “4x4xU” — the same song that played during their engagement — transforming the massive venue into an intimate celebration of their love. Devlin’s steady, warm tone blended seamlessly with Lainey’s soulful voice, making the duet feel less like a concert and more like a heartfelt love letter.

From Private Romance to Center Stage

For most fans, it was a side of Devlin they had never seen. After leaving football behind, few expected him to step into the spotlight musically — but his performance proved he could hold his own alongside one of country’s brightest stars.

Lainey and Devlin’s love story began in 2021, though they kept it under wraps until making their public debut at the ACM Awards in 2023. In February 2025, Devlin proposed at the former home of George Jones in Franklin, Tennessee, decorating the house with candles and personal touches that turned the night into a scene straight from a romance movie.

A Night Fans Won’t Forget

Back in Nashville, the chemistry between the two was undeniable. Fans sang along, cheered loudly, and shared that it was the most touching moment of the Whirlwind Tour so far. Between verses, Lainey and Devlin exchanged glances and laughter that made the entire performance glow with authenticity.

For Lainey, bringing Devlin on stage wasn’t just a surprise — it was a milestone. It marked how far they’ve come, from quietly dating to sharing their engagement, and now singing together in the city where her career first took root.

As the final notes of “4x4xU” faded, the crowd roared, and Lainey leaned into Devlin with a smile full of meaning. This wasn’t just another concert stop — it was a moment of love and music that both they and their fans will treasure for years to come.
