Ashley McBryde to Launch Redemption: A Mocktail Bar with a Mission on Nashville’s Broadway
Ashley McBryde is set to make her mark on Nashville’s iconic Broadway—just not in the way fans might expect.
On Friday, August 1, the Grammy-winning singer-songwriter announced plans to open Redemption, a new bar and live music venue located inside Eric Church’s Chief’s. But rather than following the traditional honky-tonk model, Redemption will focus on providing inclusive, alcohol-free options to visitors and locals alike.
The venue will offer a curated menu of zero-proof cocktails, with each drink named after lyrics that resonate with McBryde’s journey. While the emphasis is on non-alcoholic beverages, the bar will also serve traditional drinks—ensuring everyone feels welcome.
“It was vital that I create a space where not drinking is the forethought—normalized,” McBryde told Rolling Stone. “You can get alcoholic drinks in Redemption too, because everyone is welcome.”
McBryde says she was intentional in making Redemption a place that reflects both her personal evolution and her values.
“When the opportunity to make my mark on Broadway came, I knew I wanted to create a space that champions what’s made a difference in my life—a space that lifts up the brushed aside, and makes sure everyone feels welcome.”
What also sets Redemption apart is its dedication to original music. While many Broadway bars focus heavily on crowd-pleasing covers, McBryde’s venue will spotlight up-and-coming artists performing their own songs—giving a much-needed platform to Nashville’s next generation of singer-songwriters.
A Sobriety Milestone That Inspired a Movement
McBryde recently celebrated three years of sobriety, a journey she kept largely private until she reached her first full year.
“All people are gonna do is just wait for you to screw up, and that’s really annoying,” she told PEOPLE in 2023. “I did it for me. I didn’t do it for social media.”
Her decision to quit drinking came after realizing the toll it was taking on her career and well-being.
“Maybe part of being the ‘whiskey-drinking badass’ is knowing when to set it down,” she said. “This had become too costly, and I’m not willing to trade this—what I do, what I love—for anything.”
With Redemption, McBryde is turning that personal turning point into a public space for connection, creativity, and change.
The bar is slated to open its doors on August 28.
