Country’s Biggest Names Lit Up the Stage at the 60th ACM Awards
The 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards were held on Thursday, May 8, at the Ford Center in Frisco, Texas—and while the night was packed with intense competition, it was the live performances that truly stole the spotlight.
Among the standout acts was none other than Blake Shelton, who treated fans to a live rendition of his latest hit, “Texas.”
Released in November 2024, “Texas” marked Shelton’s return to solo music after a two-year hiatus. The track features a fresh sonic direction for the longtime country favorite, even paying homage to George Strait’s classic, “All My Ex’s Live in Texas.”
Despite the break, Shelton returned stronger than ever. “Texas” quickly broke his personal record for first-week radio adds, with an impressive 156 stations picking up the song. It didn’t stop there—Texas went on to become Shelton’s 30th number-one hit.
A Perfect Lead-In to Blake Shelton’s New Album
Blake’s performance couldn’t have been timed better, coming just a day ahead of the release of his first album in four years, Recreational Use Only.
Announced back in March, the album features 12 new tracks, including a few collaborations with other artists. Fans had been eagerly awaiting this comeback project, and his ACM stage moment only added to the excitement.
