“It Takes A Woman”: Chris and Morgane Stapleton Deliver Soulful ACM Showstopper

Chris Stapleton and Wife Morgane Deliver Intimate Duet of “It Takes A Woman” at 60th ACM Awards

At the 60th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, Chris Stapleton once again reminded fans why he’s one of the most revered voices in country music — but this time, it wasn’t just his vocals that stole the show.

Taking the stage with his wife and longtime collaborator Morgane Stapleton, the couple delivered a soulful, stripped-back performance of Chris’s 2023 release, “It Takes A Woman.”

A Moment of Intimacy Amid the Glitz
While the ACM stage has seen its share of high-octane moments, the Stapletons chose simplicity over spectacle. No flashy lights, no elaborate setup — just two voices, one spotlight, and a palpable connection that filled the room.

From start to finish, the couple never broke eye contact. It was as if the crowd faded away, and we were witnessing a private love letter in the form of song.

Lyrics That Speak Volumes
The emotional power of “It Takes A Woman” is carried by lyrics that feel pulled straight from Stapleton’s heart:

“Whenever I’m broken / Honey, you heal me
When I’m in the dark / You are the light
When I get lost / You know right where to find me
When I have my doubts / You make me believe”

Morgane’s harmonies, as always, were the perfect complement — soft, steady, and soaked in feeling. Together, they created one of the most moving performances of the night, a quiet masterclass in vulnerability and grace.

A Legacy of Love and Music
Chris, now a 14-time ACM winner, has made it a tradition to bring Morgane on stage, not just as his wife but as his equal partner in art. Their performance was more than a song — it was a reflection of the bond that fuels their music and lives.

And for fans who remember his 2024 ACM duet with Dua Lipa on “Think I’m In Love With You,” this performance was a complete contrast — not genre-blending or star-studded, but raw and deeply personal.

The Heart of the ACMs
In a night packed with megawatt talent and career-defining moments, it was the quiet power of Chris and Morgane Stapleton that reminded everyone:
sometimes the most unforgettable performances are the ones that whisper, not roar.
