Lainey Wilson Joins Cast of Film Adaptation Reminders of Him
Country Star Set for Her First Feature Film Role in Colleen Hoover’s Bestselling Drama
Lainey Wilson—Grammy winner, CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year, and Grand Ole Opry member—is adding a new title to her résumé: movie star.
On April 30, Universal announced that Wilson has been cast in the upcoming film adaptation of Reminders of Him, the hit novel by Colleen Hoover. The role marks Wilson’s debut in a feature film.
Described by Variety as a “transformative film about motherhood, forgiveness, and the healing power of love,” Reminders of Him follows the story of Kenna Rowan, a woman who returns home after five years in prison following a tragic mistake. Determined to reunite with her daughter, Kenna faces resistance from everyone—except for local bar owner Ledger Ward, who may be her only chance at redemption.
The novel has sold over 6.5 million copies worldwide and been translated into 45 languages since its 2022 release. The film is set to hit theaters on February 13, 2026.
Wilson will play the role of Amy, as confirmed by Hoover in an Instagram post. Wilson responded with excitement, writing, “Couldn’t be more excited to be your Amy!”
She joins a cast that includes Maika Monroe as Kenna, Tyriq Withers as Ledger, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham, Bradley Whitford, and Nicholas Duvernay.
Though this is her first film role, Wilson already has on-screen experience. She appeared in Yellowstone Season 5 as Abby, a country singer and love interest to ranch hand Ryan (played by Ian Bohen). While the hit show ended after its fifth season, Wilson is open to returning to the Yellowstone universe if asked.
“We’ll see,” she said at the 2025 Grammy Awards. “Taylor Sheridan is full of surprises. If he calls and wants to keep the story going, I’m there.”
