    • “A FLEETING REMARK — BUT THE ENTIRE STAGE OF PRIVATE LIFE LIGHTS UP.” Under the flashing lights of the cameras and the sound of rolling suitcases on the cold stone floor of LAX, Rick Springfield emerged as if he had just been pulled onto an impromptu Hollywood stage. No intro music, no script, he delivered a short but sharp statement, echoing through the noisy space like a guitar note cutting through the silence. That moment suddenly transformed into a post-divorce monologue, where Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban — though absent — were still placed under an invisible spotlight. While the legal documents coldly closed with numbers and clauses, that advice carried the raw rhythm of rock and roll: frank, bold, and unvarnished. The crowd stopped, the cameras held their frames, and the statement spread like a controversial chorus. Not an official performance, but it was a moment when the stage lit up — where a brief remark was enough to stir up all of Hollywood.

Lainey Wilson Joins Cast of Reminders of Him Movie in First Major Film Role

Country powerhouse Lainey Wilson is adding another title to her resume—movie star.

Universal Pictures announced on April 30 that Wilson will make her feature film debut in the upcoming adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel Reminders of Him. The film, set to hit theaters on February 13, 2026, brings to life Hoover’s emotional tale of redemption, motherhood, and the healing power of love.

According to Variety, Reminders of Him centers on Kenna Rowan, a woman released from prison after five years for a tragic mistake. She returns home determined to reconnect with her daughter, but the town—and those around the child—aren’t ready to forgive. The only person who shows Kenna compassion is Ledger Ward, a local bar owner.

Wilson will portray a character named Amy, which Hoover confirmed via Instagram. Wilson replied with enthusiasm, saying, “Couldn’t be more excited to be your Amy!”

The cast also includes Maika Monroe as Kenna, Tyriq Withers as Ledger, Rudy Pankow, Lauren Graham, Bradley Whitford, and Nicholas Duvernay.

From the Stage to the Screen

Although this is her first time starring in a movie, Wilson isn’t new to acting. She played a supporting role in Yellowstone Season 5 as Abby, a country singer and romantic interest to ranch hand Ryan. While Yellowstone concluded with its fifth season, Wilson remains open to rejoining the Dutton universe in one of its upcoming spin-offs.

“We’ll see,” Wilson teased at the 2025 Grammys. “Taylor Sheridan always has something up his sleeve. If he wants to keep the story going, I’m there.”

With multiple Grammys, a Grand Ole Opry membership, and major CMA and ACM accolades under her belt, Wilson continues to expand her influence far beyond the country charts. Her involvement in Reminders of Him not only marks a new chapter in her career but also positions her as a cross-genre talent to watch.

Fans can expect Reminders of Him in theaters just in time for Valentine’s Day 2026.
