    • “Wait… wait a second.” — that brief phrase from the microphone instantly silenced over 18,000 spectators in the stadium, just as Bruce Springsteen was reaching the climax of the concert. A few seconds later, a tiny hand reached up from the front row, and that moment derailed a setlist that had been prepared for months. At 74, “The Boss” didn’t shock with loud music or stage fireworks, but with a pure, heartfelt reaction. What followed lasted less than 10 seconds, but it was enough to send thousands of phones recording simultaneously and cause social media to explode within hours. It wasn’t a gimmick, nor was it a random improvisation — a rare moment when a legend humbled himself to the level of a child. And that unscripted moment became the most talked-about moment of the entire tour.

Elon Musk speaks out after “Nazi salute” accusations

After being accused of delivering a “Nazi salute” during Donald Trump’s inauguration yesterday, Elon Musk has released a statement.

Trump was formally sworn in as the President of the United States on Monday, January 20, and will now commence his second term in office. Naturally, there was a plethora of topics to discuss following Trump’s swearing in yesterday, as he made the usual ambitious promises for the next four years.

However, despite the fact that some individuals chose to concentrate on the headwear worn by First Lady Melania Trump, while others focused on the degree to which Vice President J.D. Vance’s daughter resembles her father, it was Elon Musk who undoubtedly generated the most controversy on the internet.

The Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder, who utilized his social media platform ‘X’ (formerly Twitter) to advocate for Trump’s campaign in the months leading up to the election, was present at the Capital One Arena in Washington prior to the Inauguration Day parade yesterday.

Musk elicited controversy with a gesture that involved him firing his right arm and thumping his chest, following an impassioned speech in which he discussed the possibility of sending the first human to Mars and erecting an American flag on the “Red Planet.”

“I am grateful for your assistance in achieving this.” Musk then expressed his gratitude, stating, “My heart goes out to you.” He then returned to the audience and repeated the gesture toward the US flag.

The historical parallels that can be drawn with such a salute are evident, and it was not long before the internet erupted with reactions. The action was characterized by CNN anchor Kasie Hunt as “not something you typically see at American rallies” and as “evocative of things that we have seen through history.”

On Elon Musk’s personal platform, X, individuals were somewhat more forthright in their assessments, accusing the 53-year-old of conducting a “Sieg Heil” that was “as evident as day.”

The Anti-Defamation League, the antisemitism watchdog, publicly defended Musk on X, stating, “It appears that [Musk] made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute. However, we continue to appreciate that people are on edge.”

“This is a precarious situation.” Despite the fact that it is a new day, a significant number of individuals are experiencing anxiety. Our political climate is tense, and the anxiety is only exacerbated by social media.

“At this juncture, it is imperative that all parties extend a small amount of grace, and perhaps even the benefit of the doubt, to one another, and then take a deep breath.” This marks a new beginning. In the months and years ahead, let us strive for unity and hope for healing.

The Anti-Defamation League was promptly rebuked by US Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who wrote, “To be precise, you are advocating for a Heil Hitler salute that was executed and repeated for the purpose of emphasis and clarity.”

“From this moment forward, individuals are permitted to cease listening to you as a credible source of information.” You are employed by them. We appreciate your efforts to ensure that this was clearly communicated to all parties.

Then Musk himself accused Cortez of having “just 100 percent lost her marbles.”

“May we please discontinue the practice of referring to individuals as Nazis?” wrote another X user. It was ineffective during the election and is currently ineffective. The material is outdated, monotonous, and fatigued. Its impact has been exhausted, and individuals are no longer astounded by it. The wolf has been sounded too frequently.

Musk replied to the comment with a fatigue emoji and the phrase “yeah exactly” before following up with a further statement. “In all honesty, they require more effective deception.” The attack that “everyone is Hitler” is so overused.
