Tragically, Anthony Mitchell, an amputee who was 67 years old, and his son Justin, who suffered from cerebral palsy, both perished in the flames that occurred in Los Angeles. As a means of safeguarding his son, Anthony, who uses a wheelchair, remained behind. “He was not going to leave his son behind, no matter what any circumstances were,” said Hajime White, the man’s daughter. Altadena was the location where their bodies were discovered after they were unable to flee the flames.

At least ten people have lost their lives as a result of the flames, and authorities have warned that the number could increase as the investigation continues. In light of the condition of the remains, the medical examiner for the city of Los Angeles revealed that dental records and DNA DNA are being utilized. In his remarks, Sheriff Robert Luna highlighted the difficulties that emergency responders face, mentioning ongoing spot fires and gas leaks as examples.

The 66-year-old Victor Shaw, who had been attempting to save his family home for the past 55 years, was one of the victims. Shari, his sister, remembered how she desperately pleaded with him to leave the area. It was necessary for me to save myself because he did not respond when I walked back inside and called his name once more. In a similar manner, Rodney Nickerson, who was 82 years old, passed away after deciding to remain in his home in Altadena, hoping that the fire would eventually pass.

The wildfires have caused the destruction of more than 34,000 acres, making them the most catastrophic in the history of Los Angeles. A number of famous people, like Paris Hilton and Anthony Hopkins, have been known to have lost their mansions. “The true devastation will take time to uncover,” the sheriff warned, as the search efforts continue. Officials are urging patience as they continue their investigations.
