    My MIL denies snooping

We all cherish our privacy, hence when that aspect of our lives is compromised, we feel threatened and even vulnerable.
One Redditor related how she handled her mother-in-law, who took advantage of any chance to spy into her and her husband’s bedroom. Her husband, on the other hand, thinks she went too far seeking retribution against his mother, and today she consults other Redditors for guidance.

All began when OP saw her mother-in-law surreptitiously entering their bedroom. Though she knew there was a restroom downstairs, the mother-in-law said she was only seeking for somewhere to use. She approached her.

This happened several times; one time, OP decided to follow her husband’s mother when she observed her headed upstairs. Once more entering the bedroom, the mother-in-law began reviewing the invoices and paperwork of her daughter-in-law.

When OP told her husband about this, he said she was overreacting.OP chose to change the locks of her bedroom and the office knowing she wasn’t overreacting, but her mother-in-law still found methods to get into there and spy about.

She brought the whole family around one day—including her mother-in-law—but this time she was planning a re-venge. The redditors thought she was quite brilliant.

She specifically asked from him to cover their doorknob in fine glitter so she could see if she had entered their bedroom and persuade her husband that his mother was looking through their items. Though he first objected, the husband finally consented.

But OP went one step further and set a glitter folder over the door to drop down on her MIL should she go into the room.

The MIL showed up alongside the other visitors. The woman’s husband then advised them which restroom to use and requested them not to head upstairs, but as expected, his mother ignored his advice.

She went upstairs just when she believed no one was observing her, but she got covered in glitter when she tried opening the door of the bedroom.
“She lost it totally and began screaming at me; I yelled back and now my husband says I went too far.”

MIL was enraged, but OP, who hardly asked questions, should have been enraged as her mother-in-law stayed out of her bedroom and stopped intruding her personal space.

MIL even accused the woman of damaging her car as she couldn’t remove all the glitter that got adhered to the seats.

The redditors say the MIL received what she was due.

In what way do you suppose? Tell us in the remark, please.
