King Charles now ‘desperate’ to see Archie and Lilibet as “life is too short”

In relation to the disagreement between himself and his son, Prince Harry, King Charles might be willing to forgive some things.

Page Six claims that the King, who is presently receiving treatment for an unidentified type of cancer, intends to extend an invitation to Harry and Meghan Markle to attend a sizable gathering of the Royal Family at Balmoral later this year.

Even though the Sussexes’ relationship with the monarchy has suffered greatly in recent years, some royal admirers still hold out hope that things will turn around. Getting all the players together in one location seems to be the first step towards any eventual parlay, no matter how slim those possibilities may seem.

Still, Charles apparently isn’t ready to hold out an olive branch across the pond because of that; it’s just a potential bonus.

No, a reliable royal insider told Page Six that the King wants to spend more time with his grandkids, which is why he is eager for Harry and Meghan to travel to Britain.

Many should be surprised that Charles hasn’t seen Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet nearly as much as he would have liked, considering the turbulent circumstances that have beset the King’s relationship with Prince Harry in recent years and everything that Harry and Meghan have said since moving to the US.

Harry has made several trips back to his own country, most recently earlier this year following the announcement of his father’s cancer diagnosis, but Meghan and the kids haven’t accompanied him.

And maybe because of his health issues, Charles is becoming more worried about the kind of relationship—or lack thereof—that he has with Lilibet and Archie.

The aforementioned royal insider told Page Six, “I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children, and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry.” He might conclude that life is simply too brief. Balmoral is really the ideal, peaceful location for a get-together. In the event that he extends an invitation, Harry and Meghan ought to accept the visit.

The Express claims that Archie and Lilibet have only visited the UK once since their parents made their well-known royal departure in 2020, and that was for the late Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee.

With the Sussexes airing a lot of severe concerns through their infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey, their subsequent Netflix documentary, and of course, Harry’s tell-all memoir, Spare, tensions between Harry, Meghan, and the rest of the royal family remain evidently high.

Harry and Meghan lost their UK home, Frogmore Cottage, last year, so they are now without an official somewhere to stay if and when they decide to travel there. This has made it extremely unlikely that the pair will make any visits other than those that are absolutely necessary, especially given their alleged security concerns.

It will be intriguing to watch the Sussexes’ response if Charles does send out an invitation to Balmoral as a result. Harry has publicly stated that he intends to return to the UK for work-related obligations, and it is anticipated that he will travel there on May 8 in honor of the Invictus Games’ tenth anniversary.

It remains to be known if his family will accompany him.
