Since her guest appearance on “Point Me 2” by FendiDa Rappa went viral, Cardi B has been the target of numerous accusations that she ghostwrote the song.
“I don’t care who writes it,” tweeted Carl Chery, Head of Urban Music at Spotify, in response to the new song, praising Cardi’s feature. Whoa, Cardi B is hot! In her 2016 debut, Chery has been the subject of accusations of ghostwriting, which she alluded to in her tweet.
The claims have recently surfaced again due to Cardi’s savage feature drops on songs like “Tomorrow 2” by GloRilla and “Put It On Da Floor Again” by Latto. After hearing Chery’s post, the native Bronxite invited her doubters to come see her perform in the studio to set the record straight.
“I have written it.Join us for a recording session!,” The Grammy winner composed her own verse for Fendi’s scorching new tune, which Cardi posted with a picture of the credits.
Since she has previously admitted to collaborating with songwriters like Pardison Fontaine on songs like “Bodak Yellow,” “Be Careful,” “Money,” and others, this is not the first time Cardi has addressed ghostwriting concerns. In 2019, Cardi tweeted that she has been independently penning songs since her mixtape days.
“Hey, the thing is, I write a lot of my s**t,” she explained. I wrote a lot of the songs on my record, especially my mixtape, but I also have a handful of writers that assist me out with hooks, like any musician would. You want to believe the f**k s**t so much, but you just want to flip s**t.
