Al Roker, at 69, is eagerly anticipating his first Christmas as a grandparent. Alongside his wife Deborah Roberts, 63, he shared plans for a close-knit celebration with their 6-month-old granddaughter, Sky Clara Laga, and her parents, Courtney Roker and Wesley Laga. Roker expressed excitement about the new addition to the family and emphasized the significance of family during the holiday season, especially when their loved ones are dispersed. The couple has a diverse family, with Roker having a daughter named Courtney, 36, from his first marriage and two children, Leila (25) and Nicholas Albert (21), with Deborah.
Reflecting on his first Thanksgiving with Sky in November, Roker posted a family picture from the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Instagram. The seasoned broadcaster became emotional on the Today show when discussing Sky’s birth, describing it as a magical experience that evoked memories of holding her mother almost 35 years ago.
This Christmas holds particular importance for Roker, given that he faced health challenges during the previous holiday season. Last year, he shared a photo of his family donned in Peanuts pajamas celebrating Christmas together. Grateful for improved health this year, Roker extends warm wishes for a Merry Christmas to everyone.
