Dolly Parton Dies at 80 — Heartbreaking Final Health Update Came Just Days Before Her Death
The entertainment world is mourning Dolly Parton, the legendary singer, songwriter, actress and cultural icon whose unmistakable voice and larger-than-life personality made her one of the most beloved stars of her generation.
Parton died at the age of 80 on August 25, with her nephew Bryan Seaver announcing the heartbreaking news in a video shared on her Instagram account.
The announcement came just four days after the “Jolene” singer publicly addressed her health struggles while making it clear she was still looking toward the future.
Parton had been dealing with health problems for some time. In September 2025, she postponed a planned Las Vegas residency after doctors advised her that she needed several medical procedures. Months later, in May 2026, the shows were canceled altogether.
Even then, Parton reassured fans that she was responding to treatment and remained determined to keep working.
Only days before her death, the country superstar revealed that she had neglected some of her own health concerns while caring for her longtime husband, Carl Dean, before his death in March 2025.
