My husband Liam passed away on a rainy Thursday night.
The official explanation was a traffic accident on a wet road, and in the days that followed I was too overwhelmed by grief to question much of anything. My attention was consumed by our two children, Ava and Ben, and by the difficult task of learning how to move through a world that suddenly felt unfamiliar.
During those early weeks, my sister Grace spent a great deal of time helping our family. I was grateful for the support and trusted her completely.
