Jake’s eyes shifted toward Dad. “I told them I was your brother and that I was worried.”
“And they gave you my payment history?”
“They confirmed enough.”
“Enough to sell my house?”
His jaw tightened. “Don’t twist this.”
I held up the power of attorney. “You forged this.”
The word landed harder than a shout.
Mom stood halfway. “Sarah, please don’t make this ugly. Your brother thought he was doing the right thing.”
