Ella Langley Opens Up About Faith, Exhaustion, and Renewal During Emotional Ryman Finale
A Tour Finale Filled With Stars — and Heart
Ella Langley closed out her Still Hungover Tour with two powerful, sold-out nights at the Ryman Auditorium on November 7 and 8. With surprise appearances from Gretchen Wilson, Morgan Wallen, and other major names, fans witnessed Ella performing at her peak alongside some of country music’s biggest talents.
But before the celebration came struggle. Earlier in August, Ella was forced to cancel several shows after revealing she had been battling illness and feeling more physically and emotionally depleted than ever. She told fans she needed time to rest for the sake of her “mind, body, and heart,” quoting Matthew 11:28 in her announcement: “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
Rejuvenation Through Faith and Stillness
Standing on the Ryman stage, Ella shared that her time away had been transformative. Introducing her new song “Lovin’ Life Again,” co-written with ERNEST and Devin Dawson for her upcoming second album, she spoke candidly about burnout, self-reflection, and the spiritual grounding she found during her break.
“I haven’t really talked about this much,” she began. “Since high school, I put this career at the very top of everything — even above myself.” For seven years she poured everything into her craft, and the whirlwind of the past twelve months — touring with Morgan Wallen, Lainey Wilson, Riley Green, and headlining her own shows — only intensified the pressure.
She admitted that she and her band reached a point where they stopped recognizing themselves. “We were exhausted. We needed to step back.”
What happened next changed everything. “I can’t explain what that break did for me,” she said to cheers from the crowd. “I got to read my Bible for two straight weeks.”
Finding Home Again — Literally and Spiritually
Ella described how grounding it felt to go home to Alabama, where she spent her days riding horses, resting, eating well, and reconnecting with the faith she has always leaned on — not just during hard times, but now during success.
She also shared a major milestone: buying her first home, located close to her parents. For the first time, she had a chance to sit in her new house and truly take in what her hard work has brought into her life — not just for her, but for her family.
“When I came back, I felt renewed,” she said. “I felt like I had found myself again — maybe more than I have in years.”
On September 4, she posted photos and videos from this period of rest, including an image of her Bible open to Romans 5, with the verses about perseverance and hope highlighted.
A Return to Her Roots and a New Song for the Journey
Ella closed her reflection by saying, “It took going back home to rediscover my roots.” Moments later, she welcomed ERNEST to the stage, and together they debuted their reflective, hopeful duet “Lovin’ Life Again,” capturing exactly what her journey over the past few months has meant.
