Dolly Parton Postpones Las Vegas Residency Due to Health Challenges
Announcement From Dolly
Dolly Parton has postponed her highly anticipated Las Vegas residency, citing ongoing health concerns and the need for several medical procedures. The country music icon shared the news directly with fans on Sunday (Sept. 28), explaining that while she remains upbeat, she won’t have enough rehearsal time to prepare the way she wants.
“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” Parton wrote on her social media accounts. “As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures. As I joked with them, it must be time for my 100,000-mile check-up, although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon!”
She added, “I am not going to be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”
New Dates Announced
Originally scheduled for December 2025 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, the six-show engagement has been rescheduled for September 2026. The new dates are September 17, 19, 20, 23, 25, and 26.
Tickets purchased for the original shows will be honored for the rescheduled performances, and refunds will be available for those unable to attend. Further instructions will be sent directly to ticket holders via email, according to Parton and The Colosseum.
A Rare Vegas Return
The residency was set to feature seven decades of Dolly’s classics, from “Jolene” and “9 to 5” to “Coat of Many Colors” and “I Will Always Love You.” It marks her first extended Las Vegas run since the early 1990s, when she performed with Kenny Rogers at the then-new Mirage Hotel.
Dolly’s Message to Fans
Parton reassured fans that while she’s pressing pause, she has no intention of stepping away from music.
“Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet,” she wrote. “But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”
