Charlie Kirk Shot & Killed on Wednesday (September 10)

Political commentator and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk was tragically killed on Wednesday (September 10) while speaking at Utah Valley College. He was 31.

Kirk had been hosting his well-known “Prove Me Wrong” debate table, a signature feature of his campus tours where he invited open dialogue with students holding different viewpoints. He was in the middle of his newly launched American Comeback Tour, which included stops at nine universities.

During the event, Kirk was shot in the neck. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and given blood transfusions, but he did not survive.

At 4:40 PM EST, President Donald Trump confirmed the news on Truth Social, writing:

“The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.”

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord. pic.twitter.com/lYLEjv40bN

This isn’t my strong suit and I don’t even know how to begin to put into words the loss I am feeling right now over the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Charlie wasn’t just a friend — he was like a little brother to me – and to millions of people around the world – he was a true…

    Nation Reacts to His Death

Almost instantly, Kirk’s name dominated trending lists across all major platforms. Condolences poured in, with many denouncing political violence and sharing personal stories about how Kirk had impacted their lives.

    Kane Brown Shares Emotional Video

Among those reacting was country star Kane Brown, who released a heartfelt and impassioned video to fans.

I disagreed with Charlie Kirk on just about everything. But, we shared an opposition to "gender identity" and the abolition of sex.

He once had me on his show to discuss it. He was polite, outgoing, and funny.

During the interview, I said something about the "TQIA." He…

Clearly shaken, Brown admitted he had been crying for hours before recording:

“I’m getting mad, man. Because I don’t know what to say… At the end of the day, all I want is everybody to love each other. Left side, right side, Black, White, different language speaking, different country living — just love each other. If you see somebody down, please pick them up.”

I just did one of the hardest things i have ever done. I lowered the flag at my ranch to half staff for my dear friend #CharlieKirk. pic.twitter.com/8JJ9chckFl

The “Backseat Driver” singer said he doesn’t usually discuss politics but felt compelled to speak out:

“I don’t talk about this stuff. I don’t do politics. That’s not for me. I just want y’all to love each other. It’s really not that hard.”

Brown urged fans to put kindness first, despite the negativity often found online:

“If you need to hear this, I love you. Go hug somebody you love and tell them you love them. Pick them up. Make them feel special. God bless you guys. Good night.”
