Ella Langley Taking Her Time With Sophomore Album, Plans 2026 Release

Ella Langley isn’t rushing into her next full-length project. After the success of her debut album Hungover and its deluxe edition Still Hungover, the Alabama-born country singer says she wants to give the record more time to breathe before moving on to the next big release.

In a recent interview with Audacy’s Katie & Company, Langley confirmed she’s already working on her second album—but fans shouldn’t expect it until 2026. “I just feel like people move on from records too quickly,” she explained. “It’s like, here’s 20 songs and then one single, and then onto the next thing.” She’s choosing a slower, more intentional approach.

That doesn’t mean she’s going quiet. Langley hinted that she’d love to send another single from Hungover to radio and that fans can expect new music in the meantime—just not part of the upcoming album. “There’s going to be a little something else coming,” she teased.

Langley’s debut gave her several standout moments, including her No. 1 duet “you look like you love me” with Riley Green, and her first solo chart-topper, “weren’t for the wind.” Other fan favorites like “Nicotine,” “Hungover,” and “Better Be Tough” have kept momentum strong.

Now, she’s pouring her creative energy into crafting something different. Speaking on Country Countdown USA, Langley shared that her next album will be a true “concept record.” She’s co-producing the entire thing and already has a clear direction—down to the title, which she says came to her the day she filmed the “you look like you love me” video.

“This record is everything I think about,” she said. “I’ve been shaping it carefully—writing specifically for the concept while still leaving room for surprise songs that come along the way. Hungover felt like me picking my favorite songs and building around them. This one is being built from the inside out.”

Langley says she’s not letting industry pressure influence her timeline. “I’m trying to do what feels right for me,” she said. “Not copying what others have done, just making the art I want to make. And my team really supports that.”

In the meantime, she may release a few singles that don’t fit the album’s theme but still reflect familiar sides of her artistry. One of those is her recent collab with HARDY, “Never Met Anyone Like You,” which might follow “weren’t for the wind” as her next radio single.

Fans will also get to see plenty of her live this year. She’s added seven more dates to her sold-out Still Hungover tour, and she’s currently on the road with Riley Green. She’s also joining Morgan Wallen on select stadium stops during his I’m The Problem tour, stepping in for Tate McRae during the nightly performance of “What I Want.”

Langley’s next album may not arrive until 2026—but for fans, the wait will be filled with music, performances, and a deeper glimpse into the artist she’s becoming.
