Brantley Gilbert Confronts Security Over Mishandled Medical Emergency During Concert

During a recent performance at Harrah’s Cherokee Casino in North Carolina, country-rock artist Brantley Gilbert paused his show to call out security after a fan fainted mid-performance—and wasn’t getting the help she needed.

The incident happened while Gilbert was singing “Son of the Dirty South.” A woman in the crowd collapsed, and Gilbert immediately noticed. While continuing to sing, he tried to assess the situation, signaling for the crowd around her to give space and clearly concerned for her wellbeing.

But what really set the moment apart—and fired up the audience—was Gilbert’s response to nearby security personnel who didn’t step in fast enough.

“Hey, dawg, let me explain something to you,” Gilbert said into his mic. “I hate to embarrass you, but it don’t do you no good to stand here with a uniform on if you ain’t going to do sh-t. Go on somewhere. Bye.”

He returned to entertaining the crowd but couldn’t hide his frustration. Later, he circled back to the issue, saying:

“Got 10,000 people in security shirts and just gonna f—in’ stand there.”

    Fans Rally Behind Gilbert
Video of the moment quickly circulated online, drawing praise for Gilbert’s quick response and blunt honesty. Comments from fans who were at the show echoed strong support:

“My husband and I were there and Brantley was pissed. He truly cares about his fans.”

“Security isn’t EMT—but they can make way for them. BG didn’t do anything wrong.”

“That’s an awesome guy right there telling it like it is.”

While security teams aren’t trained medics, many agreed that their role should include crowd control in situations like this—and that Gilbert was right to call attention to the inaction.

In a world where many artists might keep playing and let someone else handle it, Brantley Gilbert showed he’s not one to look the other way when a fan’s in trouble. His reaction wasn’t just about the moment—it was about making sure every fan feels safe and looked after at his shows.
