The Madison, A New Series From Taylor Sheridan, Premieres March 14

The Madison, a new drama starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, is set to arrive in just over a month.

The project first came to light in 2024 when Pfeiffer officially signed on as the show’s first confirmed cast member. Russell soon followed, with additional high-profile names joining the ensemble, including Matthew Fox and Patrick J. Adams.

The series centers on the Clyburn family, led by matriarch Stacy Clyburn, portrayed by Pfeiffer. According to Variety, the show is described as “a heartfelt exploration of grief and human connection,” following a New York City family as they navigate life in Montana’s Madison River Valley.

The Madison is the latest project from Taylor Sheridan, the creative force behind hit series like Yellowstone, Landman, Lioness, Tulsa King, and Mayor of Kingstown.

Although the series has been in development for nearly two years, it remained mostly under wraps until January, when fans caught their first glimpse in a Paramount+ preview highlighting upcoming releases. Soon after, the show dropped its first teaser trailer and confirmed its debut date.

Season 1 of The Madison will begin streaming on Paramount+ on March 14.

Kurt Russell Reveals New Behind-the-Scenes Details

Kurt Russell recently shared fresh insight into the series during an in-depth interview with Entertainment Weekly, revealing a surprising production detail: The Madison has already filmed its second season.

According to Russell, the decision was made to work around his already-packed schedule. At the time, he was committed to Monarch: Legacy of Monsters for Apple TV+, which initially made it impossible for him to take on The Madison.

Russell explained that Pfeiffer and Sheridan worked with Paramount+ to restructure the plan, opting to shoot two seasons back-to-back. This allowed Russell to film all of his Season 1 material alongside his Season 2 scenes, ensuring his involvement across both installments.

Each season of The Madison will consist of six episodes. Russell described the project as a departure from Sheridan’s usual work, noting that it leans more toward a female-driven perspective.

“I think it’s a very different show for Taylor,” Russell said. “It’s very much written through a female lens, and it’s incredibly smart. It was fun to play, and I genuinely enjoyed the experience.”

He also had high praise for his co-stars — particularly Pfeiffer — suggesting that awards recognition may be in her future once the series premieres.

With its debut just around the corner, anticipation continues to build for The Madison ahead of its March 14 release.
