Lauren Alaina Laughs Off A Mismatched Boot Mishap Before Ohio Concert

Only Lauren Alaina could accidentally step onstage wearing two completely different boots and somehow still own the entire night.

There’s nothing more perfectly country than realizing you’ve mismatched your boots just moments before showtime—and Lauren handled it like the fearless new mama she is.

The Georgia native and Road Less Traveled hitmaker had a laugh-out-loud mom moment during a recent tour stop in Ohio. While getting ready to join her All My Exes duet partner Chase Matthew, she looked down and realized one boot was black and the other was brown. Both were cute. Both were stylish. Together? Definitely not the plan.

True to Lauren Alaina form, she took it in stride—laughing it off and documenting the whole thing on Instagram. Between giggles, she asked fans which boot she should actually wear, admitting she’d been torn between the two and completely forgot to put on the matching pair. She even remembered her friend Molly’s warning before leaving the hotel: “Whatever you do, don’t forget to put the other shoe on.” Famous last words.

Chase Matthew wasted no time jumping in with the jokes. “This can’t be real. Merry Christmas! Oh my God,” he laughed, before adding, “I think it’s cool. We call that aftermarket.” Then came the final roast: “She’s full-blown mom today.”

And honestly, he wasn’t wrong. Lauren has been fully embracing mom life since she and her husband, Cam Arnold, welcomed their daughter, Beni Doll, in June. She’s been open about how holding her baby for the first time changed her forever, sharing that it unlocked a depth of love she never knew existed. “I will never be the same,” she wrote, calling Beni “absolute perfection.”

Still, Lauren didn’t tiptoe back into the spotlight. Just five months after giving birth, she stunned at the 2025 CMA Awards in a shattered-mirror gown that made a statement far beyond fashion. Inspired by her daughter’s love of mirrors, Lauren shared how watching Beni smile at her own reflection reshaped how she sees herself. She hopes her daughter always feels that same joy—and she’s trying to follow her lead.

She’s also been refreshingly honest about postpartum life, admitting she’s already faced mom-shaming but refuses to let it define her. That kind of resilience? That’s country grit with a side of sparkle and sincerity.

Back out on tour, Lauren and Chase Matthew are lighting up stages with “All My Exes,” and fans can’t get enough of their chemistry—or the behind-the-scenes humor. Let’s be honest: accidentally rocking mismatched boots just made Lauren even more endearing. It’s real. It’s messy. It’s unapologetically country.

So the next time you’re feeling scattered or running late, remember this—Lauren Alaina showed up in two different boots, went viral for it, and still delivered an unforgettable performance. That’s how you turn a wardrobe slip into a total win.
