“Never Played a Song on a Toilet Before”: Lainey Wilson Pulls Off the Ultimate Tour Prank

Life on the road can be grueling for country artists — long drives, sleepless nights, and the endless cycle of shows and travel. Between the exhaustion and homesickness, sometimes the best way to keep spirits high is through one thing: a good old-fashioned tour prank.

Over the years, country fans have seen plenty of legendary ones — from Koe Wetzel releasing crickets on Kolby Cooper’s bus, to Megan Moroney dressing up as Kenny Chesney and riding a toy tractor mid-performance. But this year, Lainey Wilson may have topped them all.

Lainey Wilson vs. Muscadine Bloodline: The Toilet Seat Prank

On November 1st, during her rescheduled Whirlwind World Tour stop at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas, Lainey decided to have some fun with her longtime friends and tourmates, Muscadine Bloodline.

The Alabama duo — who had been opening for Wilson for five weeks — joined her, as usual, for her acoustic set to perform their gold-certified single “Pieces.” But this time, when they walked out, they didn’t find the usual stools waiting for them.

    Instead?
    Two brand-new toilet seats.

Lainey burst out laughing and told the audience:

“I was thinking about it…I was like if I ever do an acoustic part of my show, where I’ve got somebody come out, I’m gonna make them sit on a toilet and do it…I think y’all are the sh**. That’s why I really wanted to do this.”

The crowd roared, and so did the duo — because when you’ve been friends for over a decade, you can get away with something like this.

“I’ve known these boys for 14 years,” Lainey added. “So I can get away with stuff like this ‘cause they’re not gonna try to cancel me tomorrow for making them sit on the sh*tter.”

A Friendship 14 Years in the Making

Wilson’s friendship with Gary Stanton and Charlie Muncaster of Muscadine Bloodline goes way back — long before either act became a household name. Together, they wrote and released “Pieces,” which went on to sell over 500,000 units and earn gold certification from the RIAA.

That shared history made the prank more heartfelt than mean-spirited — a symbol of their years of camaraderie and mutual respect in the country scene.

Muscadine’s Reaction: “Lainey Got Us Good”

After the show, Muscadine took to TikTok to share the hilarious moment, writing:

“Never played a song on a toilet before… Lainey Wilson really got us good last night at our last show on the tour!”

They followed with a heartfelt thank-you:

“Just can’t thank Lainey, her band, and her entire team for taking such good care of us on this run. The whole experience has been one we will remember forever. Feeling extra grateful and full of hope for the future of country music with Lainey at the forefront. She is a class act and we love her like a sister!!”

The Perfect Ending to the Whirlwind Tour

The prank was the perfect way to close out Wilson’s Whirlwind World Tour, which has been filled with laughter, gratitude, and unforgettable moments. It captured everything fans love about Lainey — her humor, her heart, and her ability to make everyone around her feel like family.

After all, not every country star can say they’ve ended a tour with two toilets, a hit song, and a whole lot of love.

Watch the full exchange between Lainey Wilson and Muscadine Bloodline below — and try not to laugh too hard.
