Kayleigh Clark Earns 4-Chair Turn on The Voice with “Stay”
    A Standout Blind Audition

The second week of Blind Auditions on The Voice brought big surprises, and one came courtesy of 20-year-old Mississippi native Kayleigh Clark. Taking the stage with Sugarland’s Grammy-winning ballad “Stay,” Clark delivered a flawless performance that earned her a coveted 4-chair turn on Monday night (Sept. 29).

Her powerful yet pure vocals captured every coach’s attention, with each one making their case to guide the rising country singer.

    Praise from the Coaches

Reba McEntire was quick to applaud the young artist:
“Absolutely incredible. I love your song choice. You sang it beautifully. You did a wonderful job, and I’m very proud of you,” she told Clark.

Niall Horan echoed the praise, drawing a striking comparison:
“You have a really unique voice, kind of like a Carrie Underwood voice that really pierced through.”

    A Surprising Choice

While many assumed Clark would naturally align with Reba, given her country roots, she stunned both coaches and viewers by selecting Niall as her mentor instead.

“When Kayleigh chose Niall, I was shocked,” Reba admitted. “Nobody is staying with their genres. They’re coming after the country artists because country artists do very well on The Voice. Very smart.”

Clark’s decision marked the second time this season that a four-chair country act picked Niall over Reba.

Dek of Hearts Set the Tone

During the first week of auditions, country trio Dek of Hearts turned all four chairs with their rendition of JoDee Messina’s “Heads Carolina, Tails California.”

Reba passionately pitched to the trio, saying:
“I love with all my heart 3-part harmony. It touches the core of my being. I can’t tell you how important this is for y’all to be on my team. Y’all are gonna make it to the finals.”

Despite her plea, Dek of Hearts chose Team Niall, explaining, “We’re a country trio, but we’re a pop-country trio.” The move left Reba playfully dramatic, lying on the floor and “crying” over the loss.

    Niall’s Unexpected Country Streak

With both Dek of Hearts and Kayleigh Clark now on his team, Niall couldn’t hide his excitement.
“There is a chance I could become a country coach. Who would have thought? It’s happening,” he said. “Kayleigh is just one of those undeniable voices. It’s so clean, it’s so pure. I stole a country music artist off the queen of country music. I do not know how it happened, but I am so glad she’s on Team Niall.”

Clark’s journey on Team Niall is just beginning, but one thing is already clear: her talent is undeniable, and her 4-chair-worthy audition has set the stage for a memorable run on The Voice.
