Reba McEntire & Rex Linn Announce Engagement After 5 Years Together

Country music icon Reba McEntire and actor Rex Linn are officially engaged! The couple confirmed the exciting news during a red carpet appearance at the 2025 Primetime Emmy Awards, making the announcement in an interview with Live From E! host Zuri Hall.

When Hall referred to Rex as Reba’s fiancé, the pair smiled and replied, “We’re having a blast on Happy’s Place and so glad to be here tonight.” A representative for McEntire later confirmed the engagement.

A Love Story Decades in the Making

Reba and Rex first crossed paths in 1991 on the set of The Gambler. At the time, they quickly bonded over their shared Oklahoma roots, their passion for acting, and their love of horses. “He made me laugh, and we became good buddies,” Reba once recalled.

Though they remained friends, romance didn’t bloom until nearly 30 years later, when they reunited on the set of Young Sheldon. In 2020, their friendship blossomed into love, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

    Reba on Finding Love Again

In a 2024 interview, Reba shared her openness to marrying Rex, saying: “If that’s something he feels totally strong about, that’s fine with me. He’s never been married before. So, if he wants to experience that, I’m OK with that.”

She later opened up about their relationship during an appearance on her sister Susie’s Circle TV show, Jesus Calling: Stories of Faith:

“I’ve waited 66 years for a man to pray with and to share a faith and love of the Lord and to be compassionate and have a compassionate heart. That’s very special.”
