Keith Urban Honored With Rare Triple Crown Award at the 2025 ACM Awards

Keith Urban’s legendary career reached a defining milestone at the 60th Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2025, when he was honored with the Triple Crown Award—one of the rarest and most prestigious achievements in country music.

To make the moment even more unforgettable, fellow stars Megan Moroney, Chris Stapleton, and Brothers Osborne took the stage for a heartfelt tribute, performing some of Urban’s most iconic songs. The crowd roared in applause, and Urban—visibly moved—watched with his wife Nicole Kidman cheering from the audience.

What Makes the Triple Crown So Rare?

The Triple Crown is only awarded to artists who have earned wins in all three major ACM categories: New Artist of the Year, Male/Female Artist of the Year, and Entertainer of the Year. Urban had previously achieved each milestone and was officially inducted into this exclusive circle in 2025. The last artist to receive the award was Carrie Underwood in 2010, making Urban’s recognition long overdue.

    A Star-Studded Tribute

Megan Moroney opened the tribute with a shimmering rendition of Urban’s 2006 ballad “Stupid Boy.” Her emotional performance drew tears from the crowd and heartfelt reactions from Urban and Kidman, who mouthed the lyrics from their seats.

Chris Stapleton followed with a soul-stirring version of “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” Urban’s 2015 chart-topping hit. With his signature gritty vocals and an extended blues guitar solo, Stapleton reimagined the song while staying true to its heart. The crowd erupted in applause as Urban smiled ear to ear.

Brothers Osborne brought the energy to a peak with “Where the Blacktop Ends,” one of Urban’s early hits. Midway through, Urban himself grabbed a guitar from the front row and joined the duo in a fiery guitar duel that electrified the arena.

    Fan Reactions

Fans online praised both the award and the performances. One wrote: “This wasn’t just an award he won—it was an award he earned.” Another added: “Didn’t realize how much I wanted to hear Chris Stapleton sing a Keith Urban song. Greatness recognizes greatness.”

    Cementing a Legacy

With more than 30 years in country music, Keith Urban continues to inspire both fans and fellow artists. His Triple Crown Award not only celebrates his past accomplishments but also solidifies his place as one of the genre’s most influential and enduring figures.
