Riley Green Opens Up About Romance, Rumors, and Why He’s Not Boyfriend Material (Yet)
Riley Green may have a knack for writing country love songs, but in real life, the Alabama native is the first to admit he’s not quite the ideal boyfriend.
While fans often speculate about who he might be dating, Green has confirmed time and again in interviews that he’s single—and for good reason. Looking back on his past relationships, Green has admitted they rarely lasted long, often due to his own struggles with communication.
When recently asked if he’s gotten better at relationships, Green responded with a grin:
“There’s probably women everywhere that’d volunteer to answer that question for you. I don’t think I’ve gotten any better at any of that.”
Too Busy for Love—For Now
With a packed schedule of writing, recording, and touring, Green acknowledges that his lifestyle isn’t exactly built for settling down. While he’s not against the idea of a long-term relationship someday, now just isn’t the time.
“I’ve got a lot of opportunity in my career right now… Maybe one of these days I’ll have time to settle down and get more than just a dog,” he shared.
In a conversation on The Viall Files podcast, Green emphasized that his demanding schedule leaves little room for dating.
“I barely have time to see my dog. It’d take a really special girl to be okay with the amount of time I’m gone. I just don’t think I’ve found her yet.”
Clearing the Air About Ella Langley
One name often linked to Green is his duet partner, Ella Langley. The two teamed up on hit tracks like “You Look Like You Love Me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do”, sparking speculation among fans about a possible romance.

Green shut down the rumors, saying:
“We’re just friends. I mean, Ella’s probably too smart to date me anyway.”
While he acknowledges it’s easy for fans to imagine them as a couple—especially with the success of their duets—Green says they agreed early on not to play into the narrative.
“I told Ella, ‘There’s gonna be a lot of things said, but we don’t have to lean into it or fight it. Just enjoy it like people enjoy the song.’”
On Tour Together
Langley is currently touring with Green as a direct support act on his Damn Country Music tour, which runs through November. Each night, they share the stage to perform their duets—a highlight for both of them and the crowd.
“It’s cool to have that one and have that moment on stage together every night,” Green said.
They’re joined by additional artists including Jamey Johnson and Lauren Watkins, giving fans a full lineup of country talent.
Though Green may not be in a relationship right now, he’s clearly found harmony—on stage, if not in love just yet.
