Country Stars Surprise Fans at Nashville’s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum
Since opening in 2017, Nashville’s Madame Tussauds Wax Museum has been a favorite destination for country music fans, offering up-close photo ops with lifelike wax figures of icons like Reba McEntire, Patsy Cline, and Luke Bryan.
The museum is known for its impressively realistic figures, and even the stars themselves are often amazed by how accurate they look. Tim McGraw and Faith Hill were visibly stunned when they first saw their wax versions in person.
Because the figures look so convincing, some country artists have taken the opportunity to prank fans in the best way possible—by pretending to be wax statues themselves. Kellie Pickler and Darius Rucker have both pulled off hilarious surprises by freezing in place until fans approached, then suddenly speaking or moving. Needless to say, the reactions were priceless, and once the shock wore off, fans were thrilled to meet the real stars.
Randy Travis Joins the Fun
In 2021, Randy Travis pulled off a surprise of his own. Sitting quietly behind a desk at Madame Tussauds with a guitar in hand, he posed as a statue while fans unknowingly gathered around for photos. The best moment? When someone taking a picture prompted everyone to say “cheese,” Travis joined in—and shocked the fans standing beside him. Their startled reactions turned into smiles and excitement once they realized they were face-to-face with the real Randy Travis.

And yes—Travis does have an official wax figure at the museum. He and his wife Mary attended its unveiling back in 2017.
