Luke Bryan Struck in the Face by Object Thrown Onstage During Concert
Luke Bryan became the latest artist to be hit by a growing problem in live music: fans throwing objects during performances.
During a recent stop in North Dakota, while performing “Country Girl (Shake It For Me),” Bryan was struck directly in the face by something thrown from the crowd. Videos from the audience captured the moment—it looked like some kind of small ball, but the exact object wasn’t clear.
Bryan visibly flinched and looked annoyed, but in true professional form, he barely missed a beat. He momentarily lost a few lyrics but quickly regained his stride, finishing the performance without calling out the person responsible.
The crowd, however, didn’t stay silent. Videos shared online were flooded with frustrated fans expressing anger over the incident.
“Now this is why ND can’t have anything nice,” one comment read.
“WHYYYYY do people do this? I woulda ended that show mid-song,” another added.
A Rough Streak for the Country Star
Bryan is currently in the middle of his Country On Tour, but the road hasn’t exactly been smooth. Just weeks earlier, he was forced to cancel shows and issue refunds due to lingering effects from a case of COVID-19 that left his voice unreliable.
After returning to the stage, he was met with yet another unexpected disruption when a swarm of mayflies descended on him mid-performance as he sat at the piano.
Now, with this latest onstage incident in North Dakota, fans are hoping the rest of the tour goes off without further chaos. Bryan is scheduled to continue touring through the end of September.
