Kenny Chesney Surprises Las Vegas Crowd with Megan Moroney During Unforgettable Sphere Residency Show

Kenny Chesney promised surprises for his first-ever Las Vegas residency — and he’s delivering in a big way. After already bringing out Kelsea Ballerini and Grace Potter during earlier shows, Chesney raised the bar again this week by welcoming rising country star Megan Moroney to the Sphere stage.

Wearing a cut-off Kenny Chesney tee, jean shorts, and cowboy boots, Moroney joined the country icon for a four-song surprise set that had the crowd on its feet. Together, they debuted their new duet “You Had To Be There,” followed by performances of Chesney’s fan-favorites “All The Pretty Girls” and “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” Chesney also stepped back to give Moroney the spotlight for her emotional single “Am I Okay?”, which continues climbing the charts.

“No one has more fun onstage than Megan Moroney,” Chesney said after the show. “She doesn’t just radiate joy — she makes you want to feel as good as she does. Even I don’t always maintain that level of feeling good. She just brings it.”

The surprise guest wasn’t the only buzz of the night. A few of Chesney’s famous friends were also spotted in the crowd, including Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith. And while it was a Wednesday night, the energy inside the Sphere felt more like a Saturday.

“Maybe it was Megan… maybe we’re really getting the hang of the Sphere,” Chesney said. “No matter what it was, it was an incredible night in No Shoes Nation.”

Performing inside the state-of-the-art 17,600-seat venue, Chesney joins the ranks of artists like U2, the Eagles, and Dead & Company, who’ve all headlined the Sphere. The venue is known for its fully immersive audio-visual experience — but for Chesney, it’s more than just tech.

“I knew this was going to be incredible when I said yes,” he shared. “But I had no idea how powerful the experience could really be. Beyond the visuals and sound, it’s about sharing the stage with people I care about — and performing for this amazing crowd that came all the way to Vegas to be part of it.”

For fans looking to catch the magic in person, a limited number of tickets remain at KennyChesney.com, with VIP concert and hotel packages available through Vibee at KennyChesney.Vibee.com.
