“Special Agent” DJ Daniel Has Big Plans to Help Other Kids Fighting Cancer

DJ Daniel, the 13-year-old boy who was honored by former President Donald Trump as a “Special Agent” of the Secret Service, is continuing to dream big—and this time, his mission is to help other children battling cancer.

Diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2018, DJ has now set his sights on organizing a benefit concert to raise money for children facing the same fight. In a recent social media video, DJ called on the public to help him connect with country music star Jason Aldean.

“Hey, does anybody know Jason Aldean?” he asked. “Because we’re trying to do a country show down here to raise money for kids with cancer.”

A Fighter with a Big Heart

Despite having undergone 13 brain surgeries, DJ’s spirit remains unshaken. He’s full of determination and continues to find ways to bring hope to others. Alongside his father, Theodis Daniel, DJ has traveled to over 900 law enforcement agencies, receiving honorary officer titles from almost all of them.

“If you call us to come, we are gonna show up,” said Theodis. “We’ll do anything to encourage people and give them hope.”

Earlier this year, DJ’s story touched the nation when he was invited to join President Trump’s address to Congress. During the speech, Trump made a powerful announcement:

“Tonight, DJ, we’re going to do you the biggest honor of them all,” he said. “I’m asking our new Secret Service director to officially make you an agent of the United States Secret Service.”

President Trump’s speech last night honored so many brave, selfless Americans. But DJ Daniel’s story touched all our hearts—the joy on his face as he became an honorary Secret Service member was unforgettable. 🇺🇸 https://t.co/3JyNfIRc5v

    Facing New Challenges with Courage

This week, the family received heartbreaking news—DJ has been diagnosed with three new tumors. Understandably, Theodis was emotional as he shared the update.

“He does have three new tumors. It’s tough. There’s no class that prepares you to hear that your child has a terrible disease,” he said.

Even in the face of this devastating news, DJ and his family are focused on continuing their mission to spread kindness and hope.

“We’re going around reminding people: you can care about one another,” Theodis said. “Let’s show compassion and do what we can to lift each other up.”

DJ Daniel may be in the fight of his life, but he’s using every moment to make the world a little better—for kids like him, and for everyone who believes in the power of love and courage.

We’re lifting up Agent DJ Daniel in prayer after his dad, Theodis, shared that DJ is now facing three new tumors.

DJ is one of the strongest, bravest young men—and has now been sworn into 1,351 law enforcement agencies across the country.
