Jelly Roll and Shaboozey Deliver a Soul-Stirring Performance of “Amen” at the 60th ACM Awards
On May 8, 2025, country’s past, present, and future collided at the 60th Annual ACM Awards in Frisco, Texas — and one of the night’s most powerful and unexpected moments came courtesy of Jelly Roll and Shaboozey.
A Spiritual Showstopper
After opening his set with “Heart of Stone” from his Beautifully Broken album, Jelly Roll transitioned into a surprise moment that had the entire arena rising to their feet: a live duet of “Amen”, his spiritual collaboration with rising star Shaboozey.
Shaboozey, dressed in all white, began the performance backed by a full gospel choir, bringing a rich, reverent tone to the stage. As the crowd soaked in the opening verse, Jelly Roll — clad in black — made his entrance through the audience, pausing to share a heartfelt hug with country legend Wynonna Judd before ascending to the stage.
The contrast in their attire was symbolic — two different backgrounds, two different sounds — but one unified message. Their voices blended in a gritty, gospel-infused harmony that felt more like a revival than an awards show set.
About “Amen”
Originally released on April 25 as part of Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going: The Complete Edition, “Amen” is one of six new tracks added to Shaboozey’s acclaimed album. Following the viral success of “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” the collaboration with Jelly Roll added another layer to the artist’s genre-blending trajectory.
The two previously debuted the track together during Jelly Roll’s Stagecoach 2025 set — but their ACM Awards performance brought it to a whole new level, complete with soul, testimony, and raw conviction.

A Performance to Remember
As Jelly Roll and Shaboozey belted the final chorus, the choir soared, the crowd cheered, and Reba McEntire looked visibly moved from side stage. It was a moment that reminded everyone why country music — at its best — is rooted in storytelling, soul, and connection.
🔥 With one foot in hip-hop, one in country, and a message that transcended both, “Amen” wasn’t just a performance. It was a moment of spiritual fire at the heart of the ACMs.
